Our client specialises in small, highly reliable fans and blowers in the electronics industry. They are recruiting a Project Engineer (Electronics).
· To plan and manage the design, procurement, assembly, and testing new custom designed products to a suitable standard for customer validation tests and internal validation testing. Project values between £300K -£3m
· Produce and Maintain Documentation for Projects, Products and Processes within Eng Department to as standard suitable for ISO 9000: 2000edition audit and in line with the existing company procedures
· To supervise the launch of new products thru initial builds and then hand over to Production
To assist with other areas of the engineering departments remit from time to time as deemed appropriate by the engineering manager.
Key Accountabilities
· Manage and deliver engineered solution samples in line with company timing and objectives · Provide total prototype verification and validation against written specification · Carry out prototype build and generate work instructions and documentation suitable for technical file and manufacturing of the product in high volume on other locations
Communicate risks and decisions fully with manager and colleagues.
Specific Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
· A Degree In Electronics or equivalent qualification · 3 years related experience in the design of programmable (Assembly) integrated circuits or any form of motor control · Project Management experience, not someone who wants to have a go at it · Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, for reports and customer interface · Solution based, problem solving mindset. · Total ownership of project mindset - Highly self motivated Strong communication and analytic skills - liaising with colleagues and suppliers is key · Demonstrate both fast learning of requirements and thoroughness in output · Proficient computer skills, to include MS Excel and MS word, MS project or similar · Determination to overcome problems in order to achieve company objectives and timeline · Ability to manage multiple projects*responsibilities with sufficient attention to detail · Ability to demonstrate proactive risk management in Projects · There will be travel to the USA and Far East from time to time.
